It is He who has the powers over spirits obedient and disobedient, through whom the world is created, who is the King; and it is the King, who gave us everything that we can only ever be eternally and infinitely grateful for, when He gave Himself to us, that we killed, putting Him on the Cross. Which was more efficacious to accomplish this, the Roman guard’s mere human strength or our sins? Who has more authority, the throne of the World or the throne of the Cross?
Do we really believe that God submitted to our will without His own as well? Of course not. So why did He? Doesn’t it seem better that He should’ve refused us this authority, this power, and let us remain wretched?
God let our brokenness break Him.
God undertook obedience to our wretchedness so that our wretchedness might be again made obedient to Him.
Excellent work here Bryce. I’ve been absent from your blog for far too long. Decided I needed to visit here today.
Keep up the great Christocentric theology… love the kingdom work you did here – keep that up! The gospels are so powerful in their stories of the enthronement of the King. He was enthroned on a cross! The greatest scandal of history. Earth shattering event. Keep up the good work
